Member of Indian Association of Water Pollution Control Federation
Expert in wastewater Treatment & waste minimization
[/sm_column_text]
Mr. Apte after completion of his graduation started his career in process and manufacturing in chemical industry. There, while operating the manufacturing plant, he could reduce the quantity and pollution load of the waste water. This opportunity has given him the inclination towards environmental engineering field. With the right background of chemical engineering and the deep insight in pollution control; today Mr. Apte is known expert in wastewater Treatment & waste minimization.
Mr. Apte is an environmental management consultant since last forty years. During his professional carrier he carried out research on biodegradation of cyanide, phenols and high pressure oxidation of industrial waste water of hazardous nature starting from laboratory models to pilot plant model deriving practical data for scale up procedures.Characterization, treatability studies, development of design data and preparation of feasibility report on industrial waste-water treatment has been an outstanding expertise and a prominent part of his experience. He has prepared feasibility reports on waste-water treatment almost all type of industries and handled hazardous and complicated pollutants like pyridine, cyanide, phenols, mercury, manganese, pesticides etc. He has also upgraded many existing treatment facilities to suit for the revised influent pollution loads using conventional and non-conventional methods. His designs are known for reducing the capital as well as operating costs for the treatment and control plants for industrial domestic waste water, gaseous emissions and treatment and disposal facility for hazardous and non-hazardous solid wastes. Being retainer consultant for many industries, he keeps an up-to-date knowledge of pollution control laws and obligations, to guide his clients to comply with the same. He has carried out technical and environmental audits for various industries, with an emphasis on resource conservation. During planning stage of industry/industrial complexes, he has carried out environmental impact assessment covering diverse areas like air pollution, waste-water and solid waste management and soil contamination. Micro-meteorological data, effects on flora, fauna, aquatic culture, risk analysis, disaster management plans, aforestation etc. Mr. Apte has prepared and executed plans for recycle and reuse of wastewater, recovery of valuable by-product from waste streams and energy and water conservation schemes.
Besides environmental management experience, Mr. Apte has designed chemical manufacturing units of batch as well as continuous processes and handled highly flammable and explosive material within these designs. In addition to his engineering skills, he is a good organizer with vision and was instrumental in developing Goldfinch’s multi-disciplinary team.
